The Cosa clutch springs are available in different spring rates to adapt the clutch to the respective purpose. The rule of thumb for spring stiffness is: as hard as necessary, as soft as possible. General statements on the relationship between engine power / torque and spring stiffness can only be made approximately precisely. Especially since the number of springs used also plays an extremely important role. The spring force is simply added. Here is an overview of the spring rates of the Cosa clutch springs common on the market: Piaggio: 4,0N / mm WORB5 XL: 6,2N / mm BGM PRO XL: 6,5N / mm WORB5 XXL: 7,1N / mm Malossi: 7,9N / mm BGM PRO XXL: 8,0N / mm WORB5 XXXL: 8,9N / mm Experience has shown that even with an engine power above 25PS in our BGM Superstrong coupling 10 pieces. BGM PRO XL springs are completely sufficient and still allow a slight actuation of the clutch (a well-oiled Teflon cable also helps!). TIP: Combined spring sets can also be used, e.g. 5x Piaggio + 5x BGM PRO XL. This results in a virtual single spring rate of 5,3N / mm. Delivery quantity: 1 pc. We recommend BGM Pro Street gear oil (BGM2025, corresponds to specification API GL-3) as a lubricant.
