The centrifugal weights in the variator are wearing parts and must be changed at regular intervals depending on the load (wear check approx. Every 5000 km). A wear of the rollers is characterized by a flattening on one side, the rollers can then no longer slide properly in the runway of the variator. This results in poor acceleration and often a lower top speed because the variator can no longer fully extend due to the reduced diameter of the rollers. In order to prevent premature wear, we recommend a dry lubricant based on PTFE instead of grease. Unlike fat, this is not thrown outwards after a few revolutions but remains permanently in the variator. NOTE: Before ordering, please make sure which weights have to be used in your variator. Sport variators that use a different weight than the original are often installed in used vehicles. Therefore, when you choose a vehicle, sizes will also appear that are not originally used in your vehicle. Tuning tips Heavier weights than the original lower the speed at which the scooter accelerates from approx. 10-50km / h. Lighter weights than the original increase the speed at which the scooter accelerates from approx. 10-50km / h. Only if the engine, e.g. through a different exhaust, only works its full power at higher speeds than the original.
