As soon as a current is applied, which is only the case as soon as the engine has started, an internal coil is heated by the current. This heat is passed on to a so-called wax wax. This lives up to its name and is expanding. At the same time, it pushes the connected choke piston into the carburetor and thus terminates the choke function. The whole thing takes place in a period of a few minutes, so it has nothing to do with a spontaneous magnetic switch function or the like. Unfortunately, this delayed function is also one of the disadvantages of the electric choke. Since it is not controlled intelligently, it does not know whether the engine is already warm or not. Therefore, if the engine is stopped, the power supply to the choke is also deactivated.
